Two awesome job postings from Los Angeles’ Craigslist.
One is looking for Indian writers for an online publication put out by a non-profit, “committed to [sic] disseminate information for mankind’s enlightenment.” Yea, enlightenment. For about $0.001 per word.
The other is looking for laid off writers who just “‘have to write,’ even if it’s for free.”
I can’t help but feel like employers are relishing kicking all these overqualified, unemployed professionals when they’re down.

A Liberal Online Opinion Paper in Los Angeles is looking for Writers and Editors from Inda.
Writers are to write pieces on Indian and World issues. We need articles on Politics, Economics, Social Issues, Globalization, Prejudice, Violence, Corruption, Women’s Liberation, Human Rights, Civil Rights, Cost of Technology to Human Dignity and other issues. We pay $7.50 for a 1,000-word piece.
We’re also looking for editors. Excellent and experienced. We pay $0.50 for a single-spaced page.

Westside Today publishes six community newsmagazines (Beverly Hills 90210, Bel-Air View, Brentwood News, Santa Monica Sun, Palisades 90272 and Malibu Beach). See www.WestsideToday.com. We’ve been around 17 years.
Times are tough in this business and we’ve done some internal belt-tightening. We are currently NOT in a position to pay writers, but I find all the time that there are people out there who just “have to write,” even if it’s for free.
